Metropolitan Access and Parking Strategy

The Access and Parking Strategy for Health Campuses in the Perth Metropolitan Area aims to:

• address car parking shortages at Perth metropolitan hospitals
• enable patients, visitors, volunteers and staff who need car parking most to park at each site

The Metropolitan Access and Parking Strategy (MAPS) was developed by the Department of Health’s Metropolitan Access and Parking Steering Committee following consultation with stakeholders. It provides a framework under which each public health campus in the metropolitan area can deliver consistent policies and practices regarding access management. MAPS was endorsed by the Ministers for Health and Planning and was formally released by the Director General on 28 April 2010.

The MAPS has since been revised and is undergoing a further review. A copy of the current documentation, dated January 2013, is available online and can be accessed by following the Access and Parking Strategy documents link below.

Staff wishing to park at; Royal Perth Hospital, King Edward Memorial Hospital and Fremantle Hospital are required to have a permit.

Osborne Park Hospital and Rockingham General Hospital also operate independent staff parking permit systems. Please contact the respective hospitals directly for further information.

Subsidised parking is available for patients attending Fiona Stanley, Fremantle, King Edward Memorial, Perth Children's Hospital, Royal Perth, and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospitals, according to specific criteria. More information is available through the hospital websites or by contacting the Social Work Department of the relevant hospital.
