Strategy for an environmentally sustainable, low carbon and climate‑resilient healthcare system 2024 – 2030
24 January 2025
The impacts of climate change are global, with rising temperatures and changing conditions placing increasing pressure on health service demand, with links to heat-related illness, injuries and rates of infectious and respiratory diseases.
Western Australia is not immune to the risks associated with climate change and are susceptible to numerous effects of climate change including rising temperatures, droughts, coastal erosion and bushfires.
The Strategy for an environmentally sustainable, low carbon and climate‑resilient healthcare system 2024 – 2030 supports the excellent work already underway at our local hospitals and health service providers and supports the development and implementation of environmentally sustainable activities across our system.
