HIV/AIDS and sexual health

Sexual health and the transmission of STIs is an ongoing issue for the WA Department of Health.

These 4 reports examine the:

• success of the 4 year Implementation Plans of the Models of Care for HIV/ STIs/Hep C Virus  and the Implementation Plan for the National Hep B Strategy
• level of awareness of HIV/AIDS in female migrants from Sub-Saharan West Africa
• success of a 2007 health promotion campaign launched in Perth (and some regional areas), prompted by the increasing rates of chlamydia in Western Australia, particularly among people aged 15 to 24 
• success of the Backpackers Sexual Health Project (launched in May 2012) which aimed to increase knowledge of safe sex practices amongst young backpackers in Western Australia.
