Free whooping cough vaccine

Western Australia’s Minister for Health has announced that pregnant women will be offered free whooping cough (pertussis) vaccine.

The vaccination will be available once the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisations (ATAGI) finalises new recommendations for vaccination during pregnancy, which is expected in the coming weeks.

The government will provide $600,000 from a Commonwealth fund account to assist with the implementation of the immunisation program.
