COVID-19 testing clinic hours to reduce
WA’s approach to COVID-19 testing, which has been vital in detecting COVID-19 to keep the community safe, has changed considerably since the early days of the pandemic.
Rapid antigen tests (RATs) are now used to diagnose up to 67% of positive cases.
Thanks to all clinic staff for their commitment to the state’s COVID-19
response and their critical role in keeping the community safe and controlling COVID-19 spread.
From 5 September 2022, publicly funded COVID clinics in metropolitan Perth will
scale back their weekday opening hours in response to reduced demand for PCR testing.
New opening hours at the 4 public COVID clinics, at Royal Perth Hospital,
Joondalup Hospital, Rockingham Hospital, and PathWest Murdoch drive-through, will be 8am to 4pm, 7 days
a week.
Opening hours at regional public COVID clinics, in Bunbury, Broome and Kununurra
will not change.
For more information about COVID-19 testing at public and private COVID clinics, see the
WA Health media statement, Changes
to COVID-19 testing clinics reflect declining case numbers.
