COVID-19 update: 20 January 2023

WA Health is reporting a total of 3,690 new cases in the past week to 4pm yesterday (19 January 2023). As of 4pm yesterday, there were 1,933 active cases in Western Australia.

 

As at 4pm yesterday, there were a total of 216 people with COVID-19 in hospital, with 3 in ICU.

 

Sadly, this week’s report to 4pm yesterday includes 21 deaths, dating back to 16 December 2022, which were reported to WA Health in the last week, aged from 69 to 99 years.

Total PCR tests for the timeframe were 6,547.

 

Total positive PCR tests for the timeframe were 833. Total positive rapid antigen tests (RATs) in this period were 2,857.

 

WA has recorded 1,279,806 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

 

Anyone experiencing symptoms is strongly encouraged to stay home if they’re unwell, and until symptoms have resolved.
