COVID-19 update 11 May 2022

WA Health is reporting a total of 17,033 new cases to 8pm last night. There are currently 68,893 active cases in Western Australia.

To 8pm last night, there were 275 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 7 in ICU.

Today’s report sadly includes three deaths dating back to 6th of May reported to WA Health to 8pm yesterday; a woman in her 90s, a man in his 80s, and a man in his 70s.

Due to confidentiality, no further information will be released by the Department.

Notes

  1. This data is based on the residential postcode of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.

  2. The remainder of daily cases reported (128) are yet to have a region assigned. Data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 17,033 cases, 5,730 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 11,303 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.

A total 19,360 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.

WA has recorded 490,899 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
