COVID-19 update 26 March 2022

WA Health is reporting a total of 7,535 new cases to 8pm last night. There are currently 46,822 active cases in Western Australia.

To 8pm last night, there were 194 people with COVID-19 in hospital, eight in ICU.

Sadly, two historical deaths from preceding days were reported to WA Health yesterday, a man in his 90s and a male teenager with pre-existing medical conditions. Due to patient confidentiality, no further information will be released by the Department on these deaths.

Notes:

  1. This data is based on the residential postcode of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remainder of daily cases reported (274) are yet to have a region assigned. Data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the cases, 3,126 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 4,409 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.

A total 16,029 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.

WA has recorded 131,952 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
