COVID-19 update 21 July 2022

WA Health is reporting a total of 6,960 new cases to 6pm last night. There are currently 36,886 active cases in Western Australia.

To 6pm last night, there were 459 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 22 in ICU.

Sadly, today’s report includes seven deaths, dating back to June 28, which were reported to WA Health yesterday – three women in their 90s, a woman in her 80s and three men in their 80s.

Notes

  1. This data is based on the residential postcode of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remainder of daily cases reported (125) are yet to have a region assigned. Data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 6,960 cases, 2,460 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 4,500 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.

A total of 8,359 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.

WA has recorded 1,019,698 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
