WA Health is reporting a total of 7,901 new cases to 6pm last night. There are currently 37,244 active cases in Western Australia.
To 6pm last night, there were 457 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 22 in ICU.
Sadly, today’s report includes two deaths, which were reported to WA Health yesterday – a man in his 80s and a man in his 70s.

Of the 7,901 cases, 2,955 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 4,946 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.
A total of 8,124 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.
WA has recorded 1,013,520 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
In line with national guidelines, WA Health has adjusted the total number of reported cases in this State, to preclude secondary positive test results from people who did not meet the national case definition for a reinfection
