COVID-19 update 19 August 2022
WA Health is reporting a total of 1,760 new cases to 6pm last night. There are currently 11,595 active cases in Western Australia.
Latest figures from overnight show, there were 245 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 7 in ICU.
Sadly, today’s report includes five deaths, which were reported to WA Health yesterday – dating back to 13 May – a woman in her 90s and four men in their 80s.

Notes:
- This data is based on the residential postcode of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
- The remainder of daily cases reported (32) are yet to have a region assigned. Data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.
Of the 1,760 cases, 615 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 1,145 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.
A total of 3,863 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.
WA has recorded 1,113,823 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
