WA Health is reporting a total of 5,112 new cases to 8pm last night. There are currently 40,821 active cases in Western Australia.
To 8pm last night, there were 220 people with COVID-19 in hospital, seven in ICU.
Today’s report includes eight deaths, one which occurred in the current reporting period to 8pm last night, and seven historical deaths dating back to 19 March, which were reported to WA Health yesterday. The deaths were two men in their 50s, a man in his 60s, a man in his 80s, a woman in her 60s, a woman in her 70s and two women in their 80s.
Due to patient confidentiality, no further information will be released by the Department on these deaths.

Of the 5,112 cases, 1,587 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 3,525 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.
A total 7,452 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.
WA has recorded 292,712 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
