WA Health is reporting a total of 7,990 new cases to 8pm last night. There are currently 40,731 active cases in Western Australia.
To 8pm last night, there were 197 people with COVID-19 in hospital, four in ICU.
Today’s report includes one historical death, a woman in her 90’s from 13th April, which was reported to WA Health yesterday.
Due to patient confidentiality, no further information will be released by the Department on these deaths.

Of the 7,990 cases, 3,481 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 4,509 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.
A total 11,499 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.
WA has recorded 281,400 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
