COVID-19 update 10 April 2022

WA Health is reporting a total of 5,351 new cases to 8pm last night. There are currently 43,991 active cases in Western Australia.

To 8pm last night, there were 234 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 10 in ICU.

Today’s report includes two historical deaths dating back to 4 April, which were reported to WA Health yesterday. The two historical deaths are a woman in her 90s and a man in his 60s.

Due to patient confidentiality, no further information will be released by the Department on these deaths.

Notes:

  1. This data is based on the residential postcode of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remainder of daily cases reported (184) are yet to have a region assigned. Data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 5,351 cases, 2,044 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 3,307 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.

A total 8,600 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.

WA has recorded 246,776 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
