WA Health is reporting no new COVID-19 cases today.
The State’s total remains at 1059. To date, 1045 people have recovered from the virus in WA.
There are five active COVID-19 cases being monitored by WA Health: two in hotel quarantine, one quarantining at home, one case onboard the MV Darya Krishna and one crew member from the MV Darya Krishna who remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
People are encouraged to attend the Broome COVID clinic for testing after the state’s wastewater surveillance program detected weak traces of the virus in the area last week.
While the finding does not necessarily indicate there is a positive case in the community, anyone with even the mildest of symptoms is urged to get tested as soon as possible as a precaution. They are also encouraged to book their COVID vaccination.
Repeat testing of wastewater in Broome on Friday, Saturday and Sunday has resulted in no detections.
WA Health continues to monitor close and casual contacts of a WA FIFO worker who was a casual contact of a Queensland traveller at Perth Airport on 20 July. The traveller, who was refused entry to WA, returned to Queensland where he subsequently tested positive to COVID-19.
Of the 1671 close and casual contacts identified to date, 1304 have so far tested negative to COVID-19.
Anyone who visited an exposure location during the exposure periods is required to get tested immediately and self-quarantine until a negative result is received.
Testing clinics
Since Friday 6, August, 10,984 people have been swabbed at State-run clinics. To date, there have been 1,556,640 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 186,621 were from regional WA.
A list of all testing clinics is available on the HealthyWA website.**

*Note: WA vaccination data for the WA COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard is sourced from the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). AIR is a national register maintained by the Australian Government that records all vaccines given to all people in Australia. WA data includes all COVID-19 vaccinations in WA, whether administered by WA Health, Australian Government providers or other providers (including GPs). WA previously reported only WA Health data. Note that the dashboard does not update until after 2pm Monday to Friday. A vaccine dashboard data interpretation guide (external site) is also available to help you.
