COVID-19 update 30 April 2021: Cook Islands traveller
The Department of Health is aware of a woman from the Cook Islands who arrived from Auckland to Perth today without spending two weeks in quarantine in New Zealand.
The Department of Health has advised that the woman would be transported to a Perth quarantine hotel. She will undergo a COVID-19 test while in quarantine.
The World Health Organization is reporting zero cases of COVID-19 in the Cook Islands from 3 January 2020 to 29 April 2021. Therefore it is very unlikely the passenger could have COVID-19.
Remaining passengers on board Flight NZ175 were allowed to disembark and were processed in the usual way.
Use of PPE and cleaning at Perth Airport and on the plane today are standard practise.
The Department of Health will publicly report the test result.
