The Department of Health has reported zero new cases of COVID-19 in its standard reporting cycle overnight. The official total remains at 714 cases.
However, results have come in this morning, following testing of the remaining 51 AL Messilah crew on-board yesterday. There are 24 additional positive cases. These cases will be officially added to the case count tomorrow.
These 24 positive cases remain on board the vessel and the initial positive case who came off the AL Messilah on Friday, is in State-run hotel quarantine.
The vessel remains docked at Fremantle Port. Loading of the vessel has been delayed and no livestock is on board.
The Department of Health will work closely with the shipping owner, shipping agent, Fremantle Port and Australian Maritime Safety Authority on the management of the vessel.
Nineteen crew on board the bulk carrier Key Integrity – which arrived in Fremantle from Geraldton – will be tested today. Results are expected tomorrow.
There are 20 active cases being monitored by WA Health and 685 people have recovered from the virus in WA. Note: the 24 cases from the AL Messilah will be included in tomorrow’s reported figures and active case numbers.
Yesterday 539 people presented to WA COVID-19 clinics – 533 were assessed and 532 swabbed.
There have been 463,972 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those tested, 78,957 were from regional WA.
