COVID-19 update – 15 April 2020

The Department of Health has reported five new cases of COVID-19 overnight, bringing the State’s total to 532.

Three of today’s cases are from cruise ships – Costa Victoria (2) and Artania (1) – one is a close contact of a confirmed case and one is still under investigation.

As with all new confirmed cases, contact tracing is underway to ensure all close contacts are notified and advised of the requirement for them to self-isolate.

There are currently 33 confirmed COVID-19 patients in Perth metropolitan hospitals, 11 of whom are in ICU.

To date, 24,081 Western Australians have tested negative for COVID-19. Of these 5,034 are from regional WA.

WA has 338 recovered cases.
