The Department of Health has reported one new active case of COVID-19 overnight, and one historical case identified through serology testing, bringing the State’s total to 591.
The active case is a woman in her 30s returning from overseas travel, who has been in hotel quarantine since arrival.
The historical case was a man in his 40s from the Kimberley who was a known contact of a positive case. He was cleared in April.
There are now 29 active cases in WA.
- Four are West Australians
- Five are from interstate
- Twenty are from overseas.
Of the active cases, 28 are in hotel quarantine, and one – a crew member from the Al Kuwait who had been in hotel quarantine – is in Royal Perth hospital.
The total number of people who have now recovered from COVID-19 in WA is 553.
Yesterday 548 people presented to WA COVID-19 clinics; of these 538 were assessed and 528 were swabbed as a result of the assessment.
Around 360 asymptomatic people were also tested yesterday through the DETECT Snapshot program.
To date there have been 94,001 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those tested, 16,175 were from regional WA.
