Patient Transport Coordination Hub (PaTCH)

The Patient Transport Coordination Hub (PaTCH) ensures patients are moved efficiently between hospitals or other medical facilities, keeping them closer to their home or for specialist care.

PaTCH co-ordinates the booking, scheduling and allocation of non-emergency inter hospital patient transport in metropolitan WA and is available across all metropolitan Health Service Providers (HSPs).

Benefits include:

  • Sequencing of jobs to maximum efficiency of transport resources.
  • Minimising use of emergency ambulances for non-emergency transport.
  • Improving collaboration and transparency between transport providers and HSPs to provide the best patient experience.
  • Providing real-time data to help with decision making.

Future expansion of PaTCH may include additional metro sites, community transport and other non-emergency transfers within the WA health system.
