Due recognition
The HACC logo was developed to acknowledge the Australian Government contribution to the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program.
Service providers must formally acknowledge the Australian Government contribution to the WA HACC Program.
This is called due recognition and ensures the community is informed about how public funding is spent.
When promoting HACC funded services, service providers need to acknowledge funding to meet guidelines for service providers – due recognition.
The easiest way to achieve this is by using the HACC logo.
Use of the HACC logo on its own is considered appropriate acknowledgment of Australian Government funding.
Examples of where the HACC logo may be used
- merchandise including vehicles and uniforms
- publicity materials including advertising and signage
- newsletters, service directories, brochures, information packs and reports
- online such as websites.

Permission to use the HACC logo
The HACC logo is trademarked. It is available to be used by service providers who have a current HACC Service Agreement with the WA State Government Department of Health and is ongoing for the term of the service agreement.
Guidelines for use of the HACC logo
Regardless of the way the HACC logo is used, the following guidelines must be adhered to:
- Logo elements cannot be altered in any way except for resizing
- The text beneath the logo can be resized but it cannot be removed.
- The logo may only be used in:
- black and white (mono)
- authorised colours, burgundy (PMS 690 CVC) and gold (PMS 126 CVC).
Australian Government Arms
The HACC logo is sufficient acknowledgement of the Australian Government contribution to HACC activities as long as it is used as the only form of branding.
If a State or Territory government logo is used in addition to the HACC logo then Australian Government branding should also be used.
Other forms of due recognition
If the HACC logo is not used, service providers are required to provide verbal and or written reference of government funding to meet due recognition requirements.
Samples of suitable terms of reference include:
This activity / project / organisation...
- received funding from the Australian Government.
- was jointly funded by the Australian Government and…
- received funding from ... and the Australian Government.
- is supported by financial assistance from the Australian Government.
- is supported by funding from the Australian Government under the HACC Program.
Verbal forms of acknowledgement of the Australian Government funding may also be required for television appearances, radio interviews, speaking engagements forums and during launches and public events to meet due recognition requirements
