The Environmental Health Directorate hosts a range of educational programs including webinars, workshops and seminars to support environmental health professionals, industry and health professionals to enforce or comply with a range of environmental health legislation and to manage environmental health risks.

The Department of Health in conjunction with Vegetables WA will be providing training to local government Environmental Health Professionals on the new horticulture standards for leafy vegetables, berries and melons.

The 1.5-day training program will comprise of a workshop and on-farm training.

Mosquito management training course (3 day)

This condensed 3-day mosquito management training course includes lectures, practical mosquito ID sessions, field work and equipment demonstrations. It is highly recommended for individuals working in the north of WA in the fields of: 

  • environmental and public health
  • Aboriginal environmental health 
  • environmental, water and wastewater management
  • environmental engineering and pest control.

The workshop will be targeted to Environmental Health professionals, systems manufacturers, installers, maintenance technicians, plumbers and Environmental Health Officers involved in approval, inspection and regulatory oversight of various on-site wastewater systems
