Coolgardie Health Centre is situated on the old hospital site in Coolgardie. A new purpose-built health centre was added in 1990. The remaining buildings have been heritage-listed and are used for community health and group sessions. The old hostel building is leased to the local playgroup. The health centre provides 24-hour emergency care, a daily outpatients service (Mon-Fri, 8.30am-4.30pm), and a range of community health services. The centre employs three registered nurses, one Aboriginal health worker, a part-time clerical assistant and a part-time all-purpose orderly. Medical care is provided by two general practitioners from Kalgoorlie, who conduct a half-day surgery each per week. They employ their own clerical support and all clients are bulk-billed. No allied health services are provided locally or on a visting basis. A diabetes educator visits fortnightly, and a paediatrician visits monthly. Operating days and opening hours
Mon – Fri 8.30am to 4.30pm |
